And here is what I have to say about one Miss Julie Taylor...
Julie Taylor is the daughter of the football coach and principal at Dillon High. We are three seasons into Friday Night Lights and it has been a rocky timeline for this award winner. Early on, I enjoyed her character moderately. Julie was quiet but clever and defiant. She hated football and she hated Texas. It was when she began to fall for Saracen, the socially awkward quarterback, which allowed Julie to come into her own. She absolutely dominated the relationship, which was fun early but proved troublesome after she kicked him to the curb.
Something happened in season two which got me to genuinely dislike Julie. Whether it was breaking up with Saracen to date the two older dudes, or complaining non-stop, I definitely would’ve put her on the characters I hate list back in ’08.
But as the gang from Dillon, TX returned to the screen this past January, we got to witness a retro but improved version of Julie. She had lost her complaining attitude and has fallen back into place with Saracen. Jules has definitely turned the corner as a great character in season three, which was portrayed by her making fun of JD’s trophies with Matt, convincing Coach Taylor to try Saracen at wide receiver, and getting close with Gramma Saracen. I expect great things from Julie in season four.
