Survivor Week 7- Sharing Rob's Underwear

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and a few thoughts from last night's Survivor: Redemption Island. So before reading any further, watch the ep, live by a samurai code, then read what I have to say.

This week on Survivor, the Golden Boy continued to dominate Redemption Island challenges thanks to the help of God, Phillip continued being the best thing to come out of Survivor since Coach Wade, and Boston Rob sneakily continued to make some of the best strategic moves of the season.

As far as Matt goes, they tried to mix things up on him with a non-physical challenge for the duel, and he still came out on top. Even though there is a lot of luck in the old memory challenge, it was nice to see him dominate once more. And as long as he keeps letting God know that he'll stay on the island as long as the big man needs him to, Matt will go a long way...Dan wrote sarcastically.

Although everything that comes out of Agent Phil's mouth is pure gold, I'm starting to worry that he's slightly stealing Coach Wade's shtick. I mean talking about samurai codes, and referring to Matt as a warrior? Coach invented the word warrior! Wait, he didn't? I guess that was just part of one of Coach's awesome stories.

Boston Rob has now found the clue to the hidden immunity idol on a number of occassions. Each time he has done so secretly and then followed the retrieval by throwing it away - this time into a volcano. This act each and every time Ometepe wins a challenge may seem trivial to some viewers, but I think it is one of the most important moves I've seen Rob make in his last two seasons. If he allowed others to find the clue, or showed it to them once he found it, they would be inclined to go looking for the hidden idol. When they ultimately found nothing, the other tribes people would start to wonder if someone else had it, and the target would eventually end up on Rob's back. If this squad ever loses another challenge, Rob is currently the last one on anyone besides Phillip's mind. Constantly finding clues next to cookies may get him a long way.

So before you let your enemy move first, check out the fantasy scores in which I continue to dominate...

Justified 208 Review- Step In Front Of It

Raylan- "Y'all go poking the bear and it's his fault when you get bit."
Justified continued its stellar run of serialization this week. In "The Spoil," Raylan followed along as the battle between Black Pike and the Bennetts came to the forefront.

The main attraction was the town hall meeting in which Mags Bennett proved why the people of Bennett love her so much, but getting to that moment was just as entertaining.

After Carol and Raylan bailed Boyd out of jail for his "arrest" by the Bennett police, Boyd's greeting of Mr. Givens at the car was awesome. As the newly appointed employee of Black Pike whispered to Raylan that he made a nice speech in the police department, Boyd seemed riddled with joy. And then as he remarked that they are once again on the same side of things, Boyd seemed truly happy about it.

30 Rock 518 Review- Sportin' Sorkin

Hank- "Jack, we've been waiting almost an hour for this Banks fella. The only explanation I can think of is that he keeps stopping to perform good deeds."
Tracy Morgan is coming back soon, right? There is only so much longer that 30 Rock can stay strong without him. Last week, on "Queen of Jordan," it was done through gimmick. This week, on "Plan B," a multitude of guest stars saved the day.

Yes, there was the obvious call to bring back Will Arnett as our good friend Devon Banks, but it was two other appearances that worked even better.

Ken Howard, who has been playing the head of Kabletown Hank Hooper, continues to be dynamite. The character's care free attitude, and inability to convey his anger because he's too gosh darn happy all the time, make him a joy to watch on screen.

The Office 718 Review- Rules of Engagement

Ryan- "Will you marry me, Holly?"
Holly- "No."
Michael- "Only one that I was kinda worried about."
I am still smiling. As funny and mean as Michael Scott can be at times, he can also be ridiculously sweet. And "Garage Sale" harnessed all of the comedy and sweetness of Dunder Mifflin Scranton into one fine half hour of television.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, as Michael showcased both his crazy bargaining skills and his terrible attempt at asking Holly's father for her hand in marriage. It was the tenderness of the final proposal scene that brought everything together.

Michael Scott is such a die hard romantic that he wanted to make this moment perfect, and although Pam halted his first hilarious idea to propose via fire in the parking lot, I loved seeing this small group of employees help him get it right.

American Idol Top 11- Save Your Singing

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and some thoughts on this week's episodes of American Idol. So before reading any further, watch the eps, partake in some fake wrestling, then read what I have to say.

I think the fact that the judges continue to give such high praise for such lackluster performances, and the fact that Seacrest has to make statement about how great the talent was during performance night, makes me find this mediocre season better because of the comedy value. It's like they know that their show is WAY past its prime and they have to completely over compensate for it by pretending like it's the best season ever.

Don't get me wrong, this season does have me coming back excited week after week for two reasons. Paul McDonald and Naima Adedapo. One is a positive...I can't get enough of Paul's unique voice and quirky style. The other is negative...I continue to be more shocked every time Naima does something more ridiculous week after week.

Paul's "Tracks of My Tears," although not as good as Adam Lambert's from two years ago, was so different from it that it had room to also be fantastic without being a feeble attempt. Naima's African dance mid song had my jaw down on the floor for a full 30 seconds. I don't know what that was, or how it made her safe this week, but I never want to see it again.

The other members of my Top 3 this week were James Durbin and Haley Reinhart. Durbin is just solid week after week, while it seems Haley has become rather inconsistent early on in the season. Of the rest, Pia, Lauren and Casey were of the one's I didn't hate.

And that is why, like Seacrest, the judges and most of the people in the audience were surprised that not only was Casey in the bottom three, but was on his way out the door before the judges used their precious "save" on him.

While Casey isn't my favorite contestant this season, this is exactly how the "save" is supposed to be used. You don't save it until there are six or seven people left so that someone can move up from seventh to fifth or sixth to fourth. You use it now and a guy like Casey Abrams can undoubtedly move up from 11th to fourth if this was indeed just a lapse in judgement by his fans. That type of increase in placing could really change a dude's career, so I'm glad the judges used the save at this point in the season.

Casey's reaction? Well that made me wish they hadn't used it. Why was he having a seizure on stage? Honestly get a hold of yourself man. I thought you were supposed to be one of the dudes out here that was a professional. Any hope you had of making it far in this competition just went out the door as you fell to your knees in a crying heap of beard.

Having said that, I'm sure he'll gain plenty of sympathy votes for being so emotional in that moment. As long as my boy Paul continues to be safe, I'll be happy.

Survivor Week 6- Hell Hath No Fury

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and a few thoughts from this week's Survivor: Redemption Island. So before reading any further, watch the ep, have a spa day, then read what I have to say.

How about Matt huh? They should just let him continue to win duel challenges until we get to final three and then have him be in on final tribal. He would surely win after all that right?

Dave kinda pulled a 180 on me. I hated him before. And I really liked him this week, in that he was going against the rest of those losers on the purple tribe. He may not be the puzzle master that he thinks he is, but he hates Sarita and Ralph, so he's good in my book.

It's been a couple days since watching the episode so I really have nothing else to say, so let me quickly bask in the glory of my current position at the top of the fantasy scoreboard......okay done basking. The yellow tribe is really coming along, which help me and Jaydon. Once the merge hits, who know what will happen, but for the time being, I'm glad to have a team full of Omatepes.

Justified 207 Review- Paths Cross Again

Raylan- "He has had my back on two occasions."
"Save My Love" picked up right where "Blaze of Glory" left off, with Raylan attempting to keep Winona out of trouble for stealing money out of the evidence locker. And what made it so interesting, other than the constant suspense of whether Winona would end up getting caught, was how much Raylan was struggling with the entire situation.

What draws most people in to Justified is the confidence and skill Timothy Olyphant displays as Raylan. It is the fact that we are so used to seeing Raylan succeed at what he does, and with such ease, that made watching him stumble throughout this episode so enjoyable.

Every step of the way, whether it was Gutterson getting to the bills before him, the secret service showing up at the Marshals, or the bomb threat being called in to the building, Raylan seemed about ready to have a nervous breakdown.

Chuck 419- Leader of the Pack

Lester- "Did you feel that?"
Jeff- "I haven't felt anything in years."
"Chuck Versus the Muuurder" was the third straight episode that failed pop off the screen.

Sure, Chuck acting in the role of the Butler in some instances, and then as whoever thinks they solved the mystery in others, was humorous, but the rest of the gag was a bit tiresome. It was literally the same old story. The characters are in a dark enclosed place and the killer ends up being the absolute last person they expect it to be.

If the whole purpose of the episode was to show that Chuck was now the leader of Team Bartowski, I'm okay with the end result. Because not only has Chuck proven himself to be a real spy at this point, but he kinda is worthy of being the leader of this squad. That is a difficult thing to say if you think about where he was a few years ago. And the idea that Sarah and Casey would be okay with him as a leader is even more surprising.

American Idol Top 12- Singing Spanish

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and some thoughts on this week's episodes of American Idol. So before reading any further, watch the eps, audition for next year's American Idol for the sole purpose of meeting Nick Jonas, then read what I have to say.

I don't have time to analyze how boring American Idol has gotten for me. It has gotten to the point where I'm not even taking notes on each contestant! I look forward to seeing Paul McDonald each week, but that's about it. His ridiculously unique voice, and unusual style up on stage, make me want to illegally download his first album as soon as it's released.

Casey was good again this week, but not nearly as good as he's been in the past. The same can be said for Durbin. Lauren Alaina finally stepped up to the plate, and Pia lived up to her usual quality, but again, didn't excite me. Everyone is talking about how fantastic Stefano was this week, but if that performance is one we're raving about, this show has gone extremely down hill.

The bottom three was absolutely on the nose this week, and I think the right person went home for the second straight week. Karen was both off key and boring this week, and going into Spanish for the second time in three weeks (third time if you count her redo of Hero during the save attempt), really made me say it was time to give her the axe. Speaking of the save, they said it was NOT unanimous! That means that Jenny From the Block was willing to save this girl from elimination this early in the competition because she sang in Spanish and did a Selena tune. You are absolutely crazy JLo!

30 Rock 517 Review- Whatever The Boys Needed

Angie- "I just wanna wake up in the morning and look over at my husband asleep on our neighbor's roof."
We were treated to a very Community-esque episode of 30 Rock this week, as "Queen of Jordan" took on the theme of a Bravo reality show. Everything about this spoof worked.

I'm a fan of some reality TV, but not most of the programs 30 Rock was making fun of here, so I had no problem with them butchering the genre. Between the character tropes, the manufactured drama, and ridiculous subtitles, they nailed it.

None of the minor characters on Queen of Jordan were all that funny, but Angie took a big step up this time around. We had her asking"who the f*ck are the Beatles?" and her constantly yelling at Liz to stop doing impressions of other racists. She was as fantastic as it gets.

Justified 206 Review- Mullen It Over

Frank Reesner- "Is that why you came out here all by your lonesome? Because you wanted to give me the chance to High Noon it?"
If you would have told me that there would be zero screen time for the Bennetts and about five minutes for Boyd Crowder this week, and "Blaze of Glory" would still be fantastic, I would have said you were crazy.

That's just how good Justified has been in this second season.

Between Raylan being Raylan, Winona acting crazy, and an old-timers' battle between the episode's bad guy and an ever so enjoyable Art Mullen, "Blaze of Glory" was really all you could ask for out of a Bennett and Crowder-less hour of drama.

Survivor Week 5- Real Bimbos

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and a few thoughts from tonight's Survivor: Redemption Island. So before reading any further, watch the ep, claim to be the puzzle master, then read what I have to say.

Is there some sort of petition I can sign to make sure every episode of Survivor this season focuses on Phillip the Former Federal Agent? Because as much as I enjoy listening to the Real Bimbos of Redemption Island...oh wait, no I don't enjoy it. Watching the girls of Omatepe tan on the beach is, however, better than seeing any footage of Zapatera at this point. This six person alliance is filled with the absolute worst contestants I've seen in a while. I can't stand Ralph, David, Steve or Mike. Julie is terribleeeee, and I couldn't care less who the other chick is.

Give me unlimited footage of Agent Phil talking about his days as a Federal Agent while spearing crabs in his pink panties, and I'll be sound as a pound. Sprinkle in some scenes of Boston Rob and Grant bro-ing out and it could be a fantastic rest of the season. We just need Omatepe to continue to win challenges as we head closer to the merge.

Chuck 418 Review- The Team Behind the Castle

Chuck- "Oh my God, Sarah. We're the B-Team."
Although the episode itself left plenty to be desired, "Chuck Versus the A-Team" answered enough long-standing questions and created a couple new queries to make up for its lack of overall entertainment.

Morgan Grimes getting tranqed will always be humorous, but leaving him drugged on Casey's recliner for the entire episode really tied the show's hands. You can't expect a great hour of Chuck without the comedic stylings of Morgan Guillermo Grimes.

Even without Morgan for a majority of the episode, comedy was still the only aspect of the Chuck Triple Threat that even decided to show up this week. Between Morgan admitting that he drank no water so that he would not wet himself, Chuck making fun of CBS and all of their CSI-type shows, and the disarming of a nuclear bomb using just fruit juice... there were enough laughs to get by.

American Idol Top 13- Dur...Binning!

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and some thoughts on this week's episodes of American Idol. So before reading any further, watch the eps, take off your guy-liner for an unplugged set, then read what I have to say.

I'm definitely not going to have to time to make two Idol posts throughout the season, so this post with results and dissection of performances will probably be the norm from here on out. This week's top thirteen was boring to say the least, and pretty awful to say the most.

My Top Three
James Durbin- I was really impressed with his ability to scale back his ridiculous screeching and give a nice and controlled performance of Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed." I still can't stand this guy, but he did a really good job this week.
Casey Abrams- Just Casey at his best here. This guy has the voice, but it's about so much more than singing at this point. The way he ad-libs and performs his songs, increases his performances three-fold.
Haley Reinhart- I was shocked when she ended up in the bottom three. Maybe this was just due to the fact that there are whole lot of Eddie Cibrian fans out there, but apparently America didn't love this performance of Leann Rimes's "Blue" as much as I did.

Good but So What?
Stefano Langone- At first I thought this was boring and too sped up, but on second viewing I kind of dug it.
Pia Toscano- Yeah she can belt out a ballad, but it's gonna get old quickly...like this week.
Scotty McCreery- There were definitely points in this Garth song where Scotty should have extended him self and wasn't able to. This is going to catch up with him.
Thia Megia- This was good, but what was that creepy part between when she switched "Smile" from normal to fast?

You Should Do Better
Paul McDonald- I love him even more as a dude after this week, his twitchy shtick is kind of awesome, but this performance was a little too weird even for me.
Lauren Alaina- I'm still waiting for her to live up to the early hype.

What were you thinking?
Jacob Lusk- Just all over the place here. He sped it up in the middle, he was doing crazy annoying runs at times. Then he went super high for no reason. Yuck.
Naima- The African Princess was once again terrible, but safe from elimination. There was hardly any singing in this Rhianna song, but her African/Reggae interlude must have had the fans at home out of their seats.
Karen Rodriguez- Really Karen? You sing in Spanish last week and now you are doing a Selena song? How desperate are you for JLo's compliments? Oh and this was just bad.
Ashthon Jones- God awful. She deservedly went home for this mess. Just because you have her 70s fro, it doesn't mean you have to sing Diana Ross.

So Ashthon went home, while Karen and Haley were in the bottom three. Per the usual, I expect the first few nominations to be girls, as the dudes will probably end up with five out of the final six or seven.

My prediction for bottom three this week was Ashthon, Karen and Paul. You like that reverse jinx I played on my boy Pauly? Keep up the good work.

Mags continues to dominate, as he probably will throughout this season. He sure picked a solid squad there.

Justified 205 Review- Triple Crossed

Ava- "Damn it Boyd. What the hell you gone made me a part of?"
Boyd- "Just saving my life."
Without any new characters added to the mix on this week's Justified, plenty of the action moved along quickly for our favorite Kentucky natives. Specifically, "Cottonmouth" brought Boyd Crowder and his mining co-workers to the forefront, as Kyle's plan to rob the mine was finally played out.

It's been a while since I've referenced Walton Goggins' role in my favorite Western Comedy, Shanghai Noon. I find it a perfect time to mention his presence in that movie because Boyd "winging it" during the entire mine robbery/bomb explosion was exactly what Roy O'Bannon told Goggins' character not to do when robbing the train in the opening scene.

Boyd was just fantastic in this entire episode, though. Between the cell phone to house phone call, stealing the crew's cell phones and having Ava call one to give himself time to switch the bomb - and then shooting the bad guys that didn't get everything but their feet blown up by the bomb, Mr. Crowder definitely got his groove back.

Survivor Week 4- Sheppard Stamp

Spoiler Alert...Below are the results and a few thoughts from tonight's Survivor: Redemption Island. So before reading any further, watch the ep, lick mustard off of someone's nose, then read what I have to say.

It was another historic day on Survivor. Last week Russell Hantz was voted out of the tribe for the first time, and this week he was eliminated from the game for the first time in three seasons of play. I loved seeing my boy Matt win a second Redemption Island duel, but it was sad to see the legend leave the way he did. On the other hand, I loved how Russell broke down as soon as he realized he was out, but then gathered himself and immediately began putting on a show for the cameras. The man never stops playing the part, you have to give him credit for that.

I love this aspect of Redemption Island. The amount of game play ousted contestants can get done while they are in contact with the opposing tribe is fantastic. Russell did his best to spew out enough information about his former tribe, so that Phillip and Kristina could help Yellow defeat Purple in the end. Russell has always been a sore loser, but it always makes for great television.

We have two castaways on Survivor that currently are holding hidden immunity idols. One I like...Boston Rob. One I can't stand...Ralph. The former found his idol this week and vows to tell no one that he has it. I love this move. The latter found his a couple weeks ago, and now that he has a six to two advantage within his tribe, decides to show it to his alliance. I hate this move. You have the numbers Ralph! There is no need to show everyone you have an advantage over them. The only thing it gets you is a bullseye on your back if things start to shake up. Dumb.

Phillip continues to crack me up, but I am worried for his time remaining in this game. Those baggy underpants are going to get the best of him very shortly, and I don't think he stands much of a chance against Matt in a duel, no matter what his special agent background is.
